Engineering on a monthly plan

A hands-on CTO who builds what your firm needs.

For owner-led professional firms of 10 to 50 staff: your website, workflows and tools, designed, built and monitored by a senior engineer who works with you directly and in writing.

Your request

New client enquiries arrive by email, and someone copies each one into a spreadsheet by hand every day. Can that whole step run by itself, without fail?

What gets built

  • A form that files each enquiry in your CRM
  • An instant reply to the client, and an alert to you
  • A check that tells you if the flow ever stops

The problem

The technology work piles up, and nobody owns it.

Your website needs changes nobody has time to make. Enquiries and invoices are copied by hand between tools, the email domain was set up years ago, and a new AI tool keeps being suggested to you.

Your firm is too small for a technology team, and the usual answers fall short: an agency quotes one project and leaves, a contractor builds without a plan, and a full-time CTO costs too much.

What gets built

The engineering work a small firm needs, done for you.

Each request is one outcome sized for a small firm, up to about a day of work. A larger job, such as a new website, runs as steps you approve one by one; bigger work is covered under who it is for.

Your website

Built or rebuilt on your own domain, fast and easy to update.

Workflows and automations

Enquiries, bookings, invoices and follow-ups that run on their own.

Connected tools

Your CRM, accounting, calendar and forms in sync; no double entry.

Email, domain and accounts

Workspace or Microsoft 365, DNS, cloud and SaaS accounts.

Small internal tools

A simple app for the one job your spreadsheets handle badly.

Dashboards and reports

The numbers you check each week, current and in one place.

Monitoring

Checks and alerts on what was built, so a problem shows early.

Advice, when a decision comes first

Vendor picks, quote reviews and plans, as part of the work.

How it works

Everything in writing, at the pace you set.

There are no standing meetings to attend. You write each request when it suits you, and every plan, change and report comes back to you in writing, ready to review between your own client work.

  1. 01

    Choose your plan

Pick the pace that fits your firm; you can pause or cancel it any time.
  2. 02

    Meet once, if you like

One optional introductory call, so you know exactly who is serving you.
  3. 03

    Send your requests

Describe each outcome in writing, in your private workspace, any time.
  4. 04

    Approve, and it is built

You approve each change; it is built, tested, handed over and monitored.

Who it is for

Made for small firms, and selective about it.

Seats are limited and kept for the firms this service fits best. If yours turns out not to fit, you receive a full refund before any work starts.

A good fit

  • A consultancy, agency, design studio, or architecture or engineering practice
  • An owner-led firm of 10 to 50 staff, with the owner making the calls
  • No technical lead on staff, and no wish to hire one yet
  • Happy to brief and approve the work in writing

Not the right fit

  • A custom product, a platform with many users, or data and AI systems
  • Health records, card payment data, or legal and tax client files
  • A firm of more than 50 staff, or one with its own technology team
  • Urgent incidents that need someone on call around the clock

The line is simple: a website, a workflow, or an integration between the tools you already use is in scope. Work that needs a full engineering team moves to an ML LABS service, built for that work.

Plans

Choose the pace that fits your work.

Both plans are monthly. Pause or cancel at any time; either change takes effect at the end of the month you have paid for.

Seats are limited, and prices rise as they fill. The price you start on stays locked for as long as you remain subscribed.

Use it for updates, discussion or advice, whenever it helps.

Who serves you

One senior engineer, named and yours.

Before any work starts, you are assigned one senior engineer, introduced by name in your welcome. Your engineer reads each request, designs the solution, builds it and watches it run; no account manager sits between you and the person doing the work.

Every request and change stays on record. Your engineer learns your systems, your tools and your way of working, and stays on your account, so you never have to explain your firm twice.
